Pumpkin Patch News and Needs

Every year we entertain thousands of children at our Pumpkin Patch and every year we have thousands of people who come to our campus to buy pumpkins. We need your help!

This morning I posted about needing some readers and helpers with the tours each morning, but
I also found out we need folks who are willing to sit in the sales trailer in the afternoons, and help people buy their pumpkins. If you can, please email me about all you might be able to do to help Covenant with our Pumpkin Patch needs. We will contact you to schedule you.

Thank You, Thank You!!

The Pumpkins are here! And while I sat I watched, I was tired just from seeing so many people working so hard to transfer our front yard into the Covenant Pumpkin Patch. Two trucks in one day, that is tremendous. Thank You Thank You!

We still Need:
Someone to  Read Stories to the children on field trips on Wednesdays and Mondays. Only qualification is sitting in a rocking chair and reading at a third grade level.
Call the office to volunteer - 981-2088.

Wednesday
Don't Forget, dinner at 5:30 - Pork Loin, Baked Chicken
Holy Communion at 6:15
Bible Studys at 6:30 - Old Testament, Young Married, Daniel...

40 Days of Prayer For Our Nation
September 27- November 5th

If you have a book, either pass it on to your neighbors and you can follow along with the prescribed reading by going to our websight - www.covenantum.org

Covenant Kids - September 18, 2012

Wow!  Time sure does fly when you are having fun!  Covenant Kids seems to be having a blast!!  Our new group of lessons for Sunday School is under way and the kids will now take a trip down Wilderness Trail while learning about RESPECT.

This Wednesday, September 19, our kids lesson, Movie Clips for Kids, will be about David and Goliath and the kids will be watching a clip from A Bug's Life.  The kids seem to really be enjoying this lesson.  We start around 6:25 p.m. and the lesson last about 45 minutes.  All kids from four years old through 5th grade are invited to join us for movie time!

We will also be holding Sunday School training for anyone interested in learning more about our new curriculum.  It will be from 1 p.m. through 3 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.  If you have any questions about this training or are interested in attending, please notify Lindsay Perry at children@covenantum.org.

Sincerely,
Lindsay Perry, Children's Ministry Director

 Sunday School Memory Verses

The kids have learned two memory verses.  Ask your kids to tell you the verses to help reinforce them at home.

"God is the King over all the earth." - Psalm 47:7
"Respect everyone." - I Peter 2:17

Covenant Kids in Action

Our mission statement for Covenant Kids is:
Meet Him
Hear Him
Serve Him

No child is too young to serve.  The Children's Ministry will be kicking off a new month-long mission project this Sunday.  Make sure you have your kids in church this week so they can learn all about how, even though they may be young, they can make a huge difference in the life of other children.

Thanks for praying for Donovan Sharp. The young man came through surgery just fine, and they believe the tumors were all removed. Praise the Lord!

Don't forget to be passing on the Call to Prayer for Our Nation Book. Our country deserves to be lifted up on prayer.

Safe Sanctuary Reminder

Just a reminder that Safe Sanctuary training will be held on Saturday, September 8 at 9:30 a.m. in the sanctuary.  Sheri Hester will be facilitating the training and it should last no more than one hour.

This is an annual requirement for all volunteers who work with the children and youth in our church.  Please make the effort to attend so you will be up to date on all of the safety measures in place at church.

We feel that is a privilege to get to work with these kids and to help shape their faith.  We do this class for the safety of our kids and truly appreciate taking the time out of your busy schedule to attend.

If you have any questions about the class, please contact Lindsay Perry at children@covenantum.org or Sheri Hester at youth@covenantum.org.

Thank you,
