Into each life some rain must fall.
Singing in the rain.
God sends the rain upon the just and the unjust.
Don't rain on my parade.
And rain fell upon the earth for forty days and for forty nights.
Now that I've shared with you all the cliches and Biblical quotes I know, you know the rain is falling, has been falling , and seems it will continue to fall.
And as a result: progress on our Building has gotten stuck in the mud. Oh well, we can gripe or sing in the rain. But here is the other effect of the rain, the staff and parents were supposed to have a softball game this evening, but it seems as if the youth and young adults who were cowering to play us old folks, certainly prayed for the rain to fall on our parade. So the game has been postponed until our Fifth Sunday, following our cook out of hamburgers and hot dogs. The Youth will attempt to play the staff, parents, and other ringers we bring in. You will want to plan to stay after church not only to eat, but to root on your favorite team (which as your pastor I am sure which team that will be- right?).
But for tonight, the youth and young adults will still meet tonight for a hot game of trivial pursuit and want their parents and other adults to challenge them tonight. They will meet at 6:00pm. Sausage poboys will be served.
VIP - Wednesday evening, our Mid Month Summer Solace Light meal - Grilled Chicken Salad, Chicken nuggets and fries for the kids, serving at 5:30pm, and then at 6:30pm we will gather for worship. Our youth will be leading this service, and then we will have Holy Communion. A Great picker upper.
Sunday - the series continues on Great Hymns of Faith - this week--- Blessed Assurance, Jesus is Mine.
